22 BAA Competitors competed at the 2017 International Aikido Festival , Akita, Japan. The trip to Japan was a huge success in terms of winning medals under tough conditions.

The Third Junior and Youth European Championships were held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield in October and attracted over 160 competitors.

2016 SOTR was hosted by Dick Todd at the Thanet Martial Arts Centre.
Explored Tachi Dori section of the Koryu Dai Roku and Tanto techniques using a broken spear. Shaun Hoddy explored Koryu Dai Roku. -

2016 Spring School was again hosted by Winchester Judo & Martial Arts Club.
Coaches for this school were Paul Holding 5th Dan, Bob Jones 7th Dan, Lesley Hepden 8th Dan, Paul Wildish 7th Dan, Tony Davis 6th Dan (Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu) and Lindsay Comens 3rd Dan. -
