Sensei Richard Firestone – 5th Dan Aikido, 2nd Dan Karate, 1st Dan Iaido

Sensei Firestone started martial arts practice in Judo when 8 years old. Moving to Karate when the judo club closed.

After 10 years of Karate practice Sensei Firestone become intrigued by Aikido and in his first class, the teacher Sensei Andrew, threw him to the ground and he had never felt so much power before. He became Sensei Andrew’s Otomo (assistant), and learnt not just the technical aspects of Aikido but the true essence of Ki in daily life.

Sensei Firestone started the Kelvin Hall Aikido Club in 2004.
