We offer a wide range of martial arts at the dojo. Each martial art runs as its own club set within the Ichiban Dojo in Leeds. The founders of Ichiban have carefully selected the martial arts clubs that operate from Ichiban, to ensure that they share the same ethos and vision and offer an excellent standard of martial arts, regardless of the art.

Aikido is a Japanese form of self-defence and martial art that uses locks, holds, throws, and the opponent’s own movements.
Sport Aikido is practiced at Ichiban.
Karate may be defined as a weaponless means of self defense. It consists of dynamic offensive and defensive techniques using all parts of the body to their maximum advantage.
At Ichiban, Shukokai Karate is practiced.
Judo is a system of self defense, a physical and mental discipline, and an Olympic Sport. Judo was founded in 1882, in Japan, by Professor Jigoro Kano, who envisioned it as a way of becoming physically and mentally fit through disciplined training.
Kenjitsu involves a Japanese form of fencing with two-handed bamboo swords, originally developed as a safe form of sword training for samurai.
Jitsu is a martial art based on the traditional styles of Jiu Jitsu that originated and developed in medieval Japan.
It is a progressive martial art that offers a means of personal, physical development, nd an effective system of self-defence.
At Ichiban, Shorinji Kan system of Jiu Jitsu is practiced.
